If you are enrolling onto the following; Bricklaying level 2, Groundworks level 2, Civil  Engineering Technician level 3, Construction Quantity Surveying Technician level 4, Construction Site Supervisor level 4, Construction Design & Build Technician level 4 or Civil Engineering Senior Technician level 4. Find answers to common questions about applications and interviews

When should I apply?

Toggle

We recommend applying as early as possible. Our programmes are popular, and spaces can fill up quickly.

Here’s a guide to help you time your application:

Check our programme dates – Each course has specific start dates, and applications usually open well in advance.

Apply as soon as applications open – Early applications give you the best chance of securing a place.

Don’t wait for exam results – If you’re finishing school or college, you can still apply before getting your grades.

If in doubt, contact us – Our team can let you know current availability and advise you on the best time to apply.

How do I prepare for interviews?

Toggle

Good interview preparation helps you feel confident and stand out. Here’s how to get ready:

Research the company – Understand what they do, their projects, values, and recent achievements. This shows genuine interest.

Review the job description – Note the key skills and responsibilities so you can speak directly to what the employer is looking for.

Practice common questions – Prepare examples of when you solved problems, worked in a team, or learned something new.

Plan your journey – Whether it’s in-person or online, make sure you know where you need to be and when.

Show your enthusiasm for construction – Employers value positive attitudes, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety.

What makes a strong CV?

Toggle

A strong CV is clear, concise, and tailored to the construction industry:

Keep it to one or two pages – Employers prefer quick, easy-to-read CVs.

Highlight relevant skills – Teamwork, problem‑solving, health & safety awareness, and any practical experience.

Include certifications or training – CSCS cards, first aid, machinery tickets, or AccXel programmes.

Use simple formatting – Avoid clutter; use headings and bullet points.

Tailor it to each job – Adjust your profile and skills so they match the employer’s needs.
