FINDING AN EMPLOYER

Once you’ve been offered a provisional position, to secure your apprenticeship, you will need to find an employer. Although we work alongside a number of employers, and will match applicants to a suitable placement, as often as we can, we can’t guarantee that we can place everyone. We recommend that all applicants begin reaching out to employers as soon as they have applied.

General Advice

There are several ways to discover job opportunities in construction:

    • AccXel employer partners – Many companies work directly with us and frequently recruit our learners.
    • Online job platforms – Websites like Indeed, CITB’s careers hub, and specialist construction job boards.
    • Social media and LinkedIn – Follow local contractors and industry groups to see new opportunities.
    • Careers fairs and networking events – Great for meeting employers face‑to‑face and learning about their projects.
    • Word of mouth – Construction is a close‑knit industry; talk to tutors, other learners, and people already working on site.
