What is a Quantity Surveying Technician?

A Quantity Surveying Technician’s  role is to ensure that projects are completed within budget, on time, and in compliance with legal and quality standards.

They work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient use of resources. The job of a Construction Quantity Surveying Technician involves:

  • Assisting senior managers with the budgeting of construction projects
  • Controlling costs during a construction project
  • Selection and management of specialist contractors
  • Recording, control and reporting of income and expenditure on a construction project
  • Valuation of progress
  • Assisting senior managers with the legal and contractual issues

Quantity Surveying Technician course details

Our Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship is 24 months.

The first week of the programme will be an induction, in which apprentices receive health & safety and safeguarding training, as well as participate in team building exercises. The apprenticeship will then be delivered as a block release programme.

Our apprenticeship combines classroom learning and site visits to allow apprentices to practice their skills learnt during theory sessions.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship programme, apprentices will also gain a Level 4 HNC in Quantity Surveying for England.
