Onsite Trades Foundation Apprenticeship (Level 2)

What is the Onsite Trades Foundation Apprenticeship?

The Onsite Trades Foundation apprenticeship introduces learners to key construction trades, including bricklaying, carpentry, joinery, and plastering. It’s designed for those who want to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas before specialising in a single trade. Combining employability skills, technical knowledge, and practical abilities, it provides a solid grounding for a career in construction and is an ideal stepping stone to progress onto a Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship.

How does the apprenticeship work?

1 day a week at AccXel – You’ll study both theory and practical skills on our live mock site, designed to simulate real construction environments.

4 days a week with an employer – You’ll then put your learning to practice on actual construction projects, gaining valuable experience and knowledge alongside skilled professionals.

Portfolio & Final Assessment – You’ll build a portfolio of evidence throughout the programme, then complete an End Point Assessment (EPA) to achieve your qualification.

Earn While You Learn – You’ll be paid a wage for the entire duration of your apprenticeship, gaining a recognised qualification at no cost to you.
